SYNOPSIS
As the lead singer of The Witches, a groundbreaking all-woman punk-rock band of the ‘90s, Inbal Perlmutter became an icon known for her unique voice and lyrics and her openness about sexuality and drug addiction in an era of misogyny and chauvinism. Despite her tragic death at the young age of 26, Inbal’s talent and artistic soul solidified her as a revolutionary of the Israeli music scene, even collaborating with Nick Cave on her final album. Through unpublished diaries, rare archival footage, and personal accounts, IF YOU LET ME GO tells Inbal’s story, mirroring her own profound and passionate life.
"Reveals not only the darkest corners of her soul, pain and self-destruction, but also her musical journey as an extraordinary and daring artist. This complex and intriguing film manages to illuminate another piece of her mysterious character."
"[The film] shows what made her a great artist and digs deep into the depths of her pain."
"A tragic story of one of the most talented musicians we've had here. A story that still bleeds, still sounds so good, and still sheds light and darkness on Inbal Perlmutter. Recommended viewing for Perlmutter lovers who know her story, and of course for those who don't... actually a MUST for those who don't."
